What is contained in this message WILL challenge some of you, but my hope and prayer is that you have "ears to hear". Spiritual ears that is, I hope the Spirit of God is able to affirm this in you like he has revealed it to me. This will change the church, the body of Christ, it will bring revival the way it should. What most Christians think of as faith is not faith at all. Within my limited circle of friends, I have never heard these things, I have never heard this from any preacher, evangelist, nor any other person. Please listen, keep an open mind, the Lord has helped me put this down on paper and I hope to put it on an audio CD or even make a video, because, faith cometh by hearing, and the hearing by the Word of God.  We are going to need to really know God, in these next few years.  What is in this teaching shows how we should have been seeking Him all along, by the hearing of faith, persuasion, from the Word of God, the one made flesh, the one sitting at the right hand of the Father now.  He is still teaching, but you must Ask, you must Seek, and you must Knock on the door of faith.

We consider what is in all sorts of books from a WIDE variety of authors to help us be better Christians, they are taught in Sunday school, in home studies, from behind the pulpit, etc...  What we don't seem to do is Ask, Seek, and Knock of the author of the one book that has His truth in it, it is sort of an autobiography, He still lives.  He sent His only begotten Son to die a criminals death, not only so that we could go to heaven when we die, but to restore what is needed for us to have a relationship with Him, while we are on this planet!  He is the one that transforms us according to HIS wisdom, not our interpretation of what is in the bible.  We as a body are DIVIDED on quite a lot of things that are in the bible.  We are beseeched to ALL speak the same things, that there be NO divisions among us, that we be perfectly joined together in the same mind (spiritual), and that we be of the same judgments, opinions, cognition.  The only way to do this is to hear from the same source, the Spirit of truth, that has been given to us to guide us into all truth, that has revealed what God has prepared for those that love Him, so that we know what things have been freely given to us by God so that we can continue the Ministry of Reconciliation.  Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

I want to take you back in time, about, ohhh, say, 2000 years or so, A.D. How did people get saved, born again, after Christ's death? By the preaching of the gospel of course, right? How is it that we, who have never seen Jesus, can believe on Him, 2000 years after His death? I mean we are sight driven beings, everything we learn comes through one of the 5 senses first, primarily sight and sound. We normally don't believe such fantastic stories, such as is Christ's, unless we can see proof or have evidence of it, of Him, first. So, again, I ask you, how is it that we believe in a man that is said to have died to redeem us to God, through His spilt blood, having died a criminals death, crucified on a cross, AFTER being beaten within inches of His life, after only a 3 year ministry?

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes... I guess that's our first clue huh? The gospel is the power of God; The short, one word answer to the question of how we can believe without seeing, is faith. But the rest of the answer is going to throw you for a loop, because faith is not what most Christians think it is, it is not just trusting God to do______, faith is what enables us to trust Him, to Know that what we read and/or hear, concerning all scripture, is absolute truth, that it has come to pass, that it is there, etc...

Before I get to far into this, we must take a look at Hebrews 11:1, and it says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This verse is separated into two halves but each half is saying the same thing. The first half applies to the Jews, looking and hoping for their promised Messiah and the second half refers to, well, everyone, after His death.

We also need to have a little vocab lesson, just a couple of words. The first being persuasion, and it means, the act of persuading; the act of influencing the mind by arguments or reasons offered, or by any thing that moves the mind or passions, or inclines the will to a determination. The second word is a Greek word and it's meaning is used 244 times in New Testament of the KJV with Strong's numbers. The word is pistis. The English word that is now in the NT, 244 times of the KJV w/Strong's numbers that has replaced pistis is faith. The meaning of pistis is...are you ready for this... persuasion. Faith is persuasion, if there is persuasion going on then there is a persuader, a persuadee and a topic. Faith is persuasion, from God, that comes from hearing the Word, not just the words on a page. The Word, the one that became flesh, the one that was in the beginning with God, that was God, the one through which everything was made.

In Romans 10 & 11 Paul is talking about how the gospel was passed onto the gentiles because of the unbelief of Israel. In Romans 11:19-20 it says, You say then, the branches were broken off, (Israel) that I might be graffed in. Well said, because of unbelief they (Israel) were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not high minded, but fear. Most of Israel did not believe in the righteousness that is by faith, but in the righteousness through the law, their works. If we jump to Romans 12:3 we see Paul telling us not to be high minded again and an answer as to why we shouldn't be high minded, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,(why?) according as GOD has dealt (given) to every man the measure of faith. Something to persuade you of the truth, of someone you haven't seen.

Philippians 1:29, For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him,... It was given unto us, every believer, the evidence that was/is needed to believe, in Jesus, and be saved. He, God, not only gave us His Son, but 2000 years and counting, the proof, evidence of things not seen, to the world so that we could believe on Him and be saved. This measure of faith given, is specifically concerning the testimony of Christ, the Son of God, it comes by the hearing of the gospel, the Word of God. Along with, accompanying the air that pass over our vocal cords to form the words that make up the gospel that proceeds out of the mouths of those that are sent to preach it, this is the foolishness of preaching referred to in 1 Corinthians 1:21. We stand, are established, in Christ, by faith, persuaded by evidence of things not seen, given to us because of the graciousness of a loving God. For by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourself, for it is the gift of God... The testimony of Christ is confirmed in us because of the grace of God given to us by Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians 1:4-6.

Jesus tells His disciples in John 15:26 that He will send the Comforter to us from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father and He shall testify of Me. Well, what is in a testimony? Read this definition of testimony and what it says about evidence, it is exactly what the testimony of the Spirit of truth has done in each believer. Testimony is a solemn declaration or affirmation made for the purpose of establishing or proving some fact. (Remember the definition of persuasion?) Such affirmation in judicial proceedings, may be verbal or written, but must be under oath. Testimony differs from evidence; testimony is the declaration of a witness, and evidence is the effect of that declaration on the mind, or the degree of light which the testimony affords.

The Spirit of God is the only one that can show you, reveal to you absolute truth, in your inward man, with NO visible or tangible evidence that enables you to believe, beyond all doubt, in the Savior of the world, whom you have NEVER seen. Faith is not something that is through the flesh, or of the mind, it is not something we "put" into our relationship with God, it is something that we are to obey. We must walk by faith, not by sight.

Mark 16:15-20, Jesus tells His disciples, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Be sure you catch this) So then AFTER the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, THE LORD WORKING WITH THEM, AND CONFIRMING THE WORD with signs following. AMEN. They were not carrying bibles.

After Jesus was received up into heaven, He was working with the Apostles, confirming the word they preached, with signs following. I say to you now, that Jesus is, the same yesterday, today, and forever, Hebrews 13:8.

Matthew 16:13-18, When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, Who do men say that I the Son of man am? They replied, Some say that you are John the Baptist, some, Elijah, others Jeremiah, or one of the other prophets. Jesus said unto them, Whom do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered, You ARE the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus tells Peter, Blessed are you Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but, my Father which is in heaven.

This leads me into the dilemma that man has put himself in, through his own flesh, his carnally derived at wisdom. We haven't been able to receive faith, be persuaded, by evidence of things not seen, or hear that still small voice, because we are listening to the thing that has been developed in us for the first 18+ years of our lives, the carnal mind, the flesh, the natural man, neither of which has been given to us by God, to know the things that He has freely given us. 1 John 2:27 says that the anointing that abides in us will teach us of ALL things. Do not read into this that I am saying that public education is bad, but it does develop, make us, more reliant upon ourselves than the thing which Christ has renewed within us which is our spirits.

This problem or dilemma is addressed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 1 and 2, with the solution presented in chapter 2, and a recap in chapter 3.

1 Corinthians 1:4-6, I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God given you by Jesus Christ. That in EVERYTHING you are enriched (made wealthy) by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge, even as (in the same way) the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you. Which is through the confirmation, affirmation, verification, corroboration, given by the Spirit of truth to go along with what we read and/or hear out of the mouths of others, let God be true and every man a liar, Romans 3:4. We have not waited on, relied on, the Holy Spirit to confirm, verify, or corroborate things in us. We are just like the Galatians in 3:3, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? We have relied on our own understanding of the information in the bible, we have not trusted in God, in ALL our ways, we have relied on our flesh, the carnal mind, the natural man.

Paul is begging the church of Corinth that they ALL speak the same things, that there be NO divisions among you but that we be perfectly joined together in the same mind (spiritual) and in the same judgment (cognition, opinions, resolve, counsel, purpose). The reason he is addressing this problem is because he has heard that there is a quarrel among them, some are saying they are of Apollos, some are saying they are of Cephas, others, Paul and still others Jesus Christ. The body of Christ, the church has plenty of divisions in it, Methodists, Presbyterians, Wesleyans, Baptists, Church of the Brethren, Pentecostals, etc... all because we are following people such as John Calvin, John Wesley, Martin Luther, John McArthor, David Jeremiah, etc... Then he addresses the problem, as to why they are arguing, starting in verse 17, going through chapter 2 verse 9.

Paul does not preach the gospel with the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ be made of none effect... For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent (which means mentally put or putting together). In Galatians 1:11-12 Paul says, But I certify to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by revelation of Jesus Christ.

In the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom (it's way of attaining wisdom) knew not God, but it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe...for you see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh,... are called, they might be preaching but they might not be called.

Paul said he came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. His speech and his preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power; that your faith, SHOULD NOT STAND IN THE WISDOM OF MEN, BUT, IN THE POWER OF GOD. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith, persuasion with works, obedience? Paul is saying, The one that ministereth the Spirit,... does he do it by keeping the works of the law or by the hearing of faith.

Going to go off on a rabbit trail for a minute. 1 Corinthians 2:6-8, Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect (able to hear the Spirit) yet not the wisdom of this world nor of the princes of this world, that come to naught, but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world, unto our glory, which none of the princes of this world knew (because they were carnally minded), for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. The meaning of the Greek word for mystery is: (to shut the mouth); a secret or "mystery" (through the idea of silence imposed by initiation into religious rites); by the grace of God given unto us by Jesus Christ.

What I want to briefly speak on here is the word ordained in this passage. The Greek word that was used is proorizō, and it means: to limit in advance, that is, (figuratively) predetermine: - determine before, ordain, predestinate. This is why we prophecy in "part", why we only "know" in part, because what we know of the things of God was limited, in advance, predetermined, for us, unto our glory. The word part in 1 Corinthians 13:9 means: to get as a section or allotment; a division or share. The only "time" limit put on this was, when Jesus, that which is perfect, is come, again, we will know as we are known. When He comes and we are gathered up to Him, tongues as He gave us will cease, prophecies given from the Spirit of truth will fail, knowledge from Him will vanish away, when Jesus comes again.

Back to our faith not standing in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. We need to explore how man gets his wisdom and verse 9 in chapter 2 of 1 Corinthians is a good place to start. I am going to start with the verse that Paul spoke from Isaiah when he uttered verse 9, Isaiah 64:4, For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, O God, besides you, what You have prepared for those that waiteth on You. The meaning behind waiteth is, through the idea of piercing; to adhere to, you know, you will find Me when you seek Me with your WHOLE heart. That word heart means, the feelings, the will, the intellect, when He is at the center of your life, in every aspect.

No eye has seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of any man what God has prepared for those that love Him. I made reference early on as to how man gains knowledge and wisdom, it all starts with the information seen, heard, smelt, tasted, and touched. We know something is hot when we get near it or touch it, until then it is just a word, a notion, something we are warned of. We know we don't like the smell of garbage that has been sitting, rotting for days because we have smelled it. There are certain foods we don't like because we have tasted them before or we have determined we don't like them because of how they look or feel in our mouths.

But the two primary senses that build the knowledge base with information that we use daily to make decisions with are sight and sound. These are developed, almost to an exhaustive point every day from the time we come out of the womb. Hearing Mom and Dad's voice, then associating hearing with seeing their face, or vice versa. Learning how to do a rasberry by watching the mouths of who is doing it to the child, then by practicing, it comes out. In school, we listen, hear what the teachers are saying, seeing what is being written on the blackboard, given in a handout, read in a text book, corroborating what we are hearing and/or seeing from the teacher. All this information is being processed by our brains and we add to our knowledge base, second by second, minute by minute, day by day. It becomes human nature, first hand, automatic to live by, the natural man.

This is how we learn to properly say letters, turn the letters into words, the words into sentences, properly punctuate those sentences. This is the process by which we learn to add, subtract, multiply, divide and perform higher forms of math. We learn about our anatomy this way, the boiling point of water, how to drive, do a job, what our likes and dislikes are, kinds of music, television shows, places to visit, things to see, entertainment, etc... We hear from God through the spirit, we learn from the world through our 5 senses, I say through what is outlined in this teaching that Christianity does NOT need to be "taught" in schools. God has not been taken out of schools, we just don't allow Him to go in any more, nobody can stop you from doing that! "We do not like to retain God in our knowledge", Romans 1:28-31, And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Through the 5 senses, emotions are evoked, and our will is developed, made stronger through time, experience, and influences from other sources. This is what is referred to in the bible, as the flesh, the flesh, or the natural man, feeds the carnal mind. The "carnal" mind is where ALL sin comes from. James 1:14-15, But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. The word lust in verse 14 means, a longing (especially for what is forbidden), but it also means in other places, desire, covetousness.

In Romans 8:6-8 it says, For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace, because, the carnal mind is enmity (hostile) against God, it (the carnal mind) is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then, those that are in the flesh cannot please God. The word carnal in most places in the NT means: pertaining to the flesh, but in these verses flesh and carnal have the same meaning: human nature. To show you just how hostile the carnal mind is toward God let us go back in time to the garden.

The man and woman were both in the garden and they were naked and were not ashamed. Then begins the temptation. Did God reall say that you couldn't eat of any tree in the garden? What she says proves that she knew what God said, He didn't say that we couldn't eat of any tree in the garden but of the tree in the midst of the garden we cannot eat or even touch it, lest we die. You will not surely die, God just knows that in the moment you eat of the fruit you will be like Him, knowing both good and evil. The "knowing" that the devil was trying to tempt her with was wisdom of God. What it really was, was becoming intimate with good and evil, more specifically evil. With this information, minutes after telling the devil the truth of what God said she starts to justify eating the fruit, disobeying God, and Adam does nothing.

When she saw that the tree was good for food (lust of the flesh), and that it was pleasant to the eyes (lust of the eyes), and a tree to be desired to make one wise (pride of life), she took of the fruit thereof and did eat... She was drawn away from being spiritually minded, minding the things of the Spirit. She was drawn away and enticed by her own lusts, then lust was conceived and braught forth sin when she took and ate. Then when sin was finished it braught forth death, to ALL of man kind.

The "natural" man in 1 Corinthians 2:14 means, sensative, referring to the 5 senses, and the senses feed the carnal mind, the flesh. The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be and the natural man receives not from the Spirit of God... neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. How many things in a day, in our daily routine, are of the carnal mind, of the flesh, decisions made based on what we see or hear? All of this time may not be sinful, but it is time spent minding the things of the flesh and not time spent minding the things of the Spirit.

Most of us sit down and read the bible by the same process that we learned with in school and most of our lives thus far, using our 5 senses to gather information and process it with our now developed intellect, our carnal mind. The things of God are revealed to us, by His Spirit, they are received by our now renewed spirit, and are spiritually discerned. When we read a book, other than the bible, read a word problem, we use our carnal mind to understand. When we receive from the Spirit of truth, the understanding comes with it, we get that ah hah moment, what people say is the rhema word, but what it really is, is the Word of God, the one that was made flesh, confirming, affirming, verifing what we are hearing or reading as pertaining to God's truth.

The transformation spoken of in Romans 12:2 is to go from being mostly carnally minded to becoming spiritually minded, minding the things of the Spirit, not walking by sight, but by faith, given to you in the same way that the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, by listening, A. S. K. Ask, Seek, and Knock on the door of faith. Those that ask, receive, those that seek, find through guidence, and those that knock, the door of faith shall be opened.

Acts 14:27, And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how He had opened the door of faith to the gentiles.

Are you getting the picture of how we should be going about in this world. There is a certain mindset that we need to be in, humility, sincerity, contriteness, we need to be as a child. "Verily I say unto you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom spoken of here does not mean the place where we go after death if we are saved, it means the kingdom that we can walk around in daily, that is of God.

We need to be more about the ministry of reconciliation, making disciples, and less and less about the "american dream", trying to mix the 2 together. The only thing that this world has to offer are the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, and they are NOT from the Father.

This is not meant to condemn you, or to get you to a place where God loves you more, because that is impossible. What this is meant to do is to get you to give your whole body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, through the wisdom that is from above, that is first pure, peaceable, then gentle and easy to be intreated (which means good for persuasion)... Ask God what is and is not acceptable in your life, don't justify anything, just be patient and listen, then, one day, you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God is for you. He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

This world is seeing, feeling, knowing less of God because we are more mindful of the things of the flesh than we are the things of the Spirit, thus He can't move through us, which is how He chooses to work, through willing and obedient servants. But first, above all knowledge, all faith, all prophecy, all giving, there is love, a godly love, we must learn to see and love through the eyes of Christ, then we won't be as a sounding gong.

For AT LEAST, 30 days, maybe longer, put your bibles away, press in, get personal, cultivate your RELATIONSHIP, ask, seek, and knock about what He sees about you or in your life that needs to be changed or discarded, He will show you peaceably, gently what these things are. Become as a little child and get to Know Him. Experience Him, don't just read about Him.

Why is it that every believer, no matter what the denomination, agrees on the fact that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God and are so divided on so much more? Because God gave us, dealt to us, a measure, of faith, through the testimony given to us by the Spirit of truth, confirming the truth of Jesus, whom we have not seen, spoken of by those that are sent. But having begun in the Spirit we are now and have been for quite a while trying to be made perfect by our flesh, the carnal mind, human nature, the natural man. This is why we are divided, just like the church in Corinth, because we are carnal and walk as men, 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, we are relying on our own understanding of the word. This world needs everything that has been appropriated by the blood of Christ through the graciousness of the one true, loving, living God.

What shall we say then that Abraham our Father, as pertaing to the flesh, has found? (NOTHING) For if Abraham were justified by works, he has whereof to glory, but not before God... Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed. So that the promise would be stable, not through the wisdom of man, so that your faith would not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. We have to much of the world in our lives. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

The sin that so easily besets us is the going of our own way, following our flesh, the carnal man, the natural man. All we, like sheep, have gone astray, we have turned, every one, to his own way, and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all; Isaiah 53:6. Every man is tempted and drawn away and enticed by his own lusts... James 1:14. The real challenge for us is going to be denying something that is automatic within us, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, from carnally to spiritually. We need to be walking in the world but, by the Spirit, by faith, and not by our carnal minds, the flesh, the natural man.

Enter ye in at the strait gate, narrow from obstacles standing close about, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. BECAUSE, strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, road, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. If any man will come after me, let him deny (this word deny means to utterly deny) himself, and take up his cross, daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

We have been redeemed to the God of the universe, our creator, Christ's work is finished here on the earth, return unto God. We have access to all the knowledge and wisdom we could ever need, and yet how many books do we read, that have been written by men, from the knowledge of their carnal minds, trying to know more, to find ways to make it "easier" or to be better, and our creator, the one true, living, God has said, James 1:5-8, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to ALL men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded (spiritually and carnally minded) man is unstable in all his ways.

Matthew 7:7-8, Ask, and it shall be given you; Seek, and you shall find; Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asks receives, and everyone that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened. Get to Know God, not His autobiography. The world needs you to.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. That they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory which you gave me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one. I in them, and you in me, that that may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that you have sent me and has loved them, as you have loved me; John 17:20-23.

One last verse, Philemon 1:6. I am going to break down this verse and put the Greek definitions in place of some of the words that are in current English versions of the bible. "...that the partnership of your faith become operative, active, by the full discernment of every good thing that is in you IN CHRIST Jesus. In the KJV this verse reads, "that the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you IN CHRIST JESUS. The meaning for communication is, partnership. Effectual means, active, operative. acknowledging means, recognition, that is, by implication, full discernment, of every good thing, which is in you, IN CHRIST JESUS. May you come to know, by faith, every good thing which is in you, in Christ Jesus, God Bless.
